assessment of left atrial function after percutaneous coronary intervention: a doppler-based strain and strain rate study
نویسندگان
چکیده
conclusions pci was accompanied by some improvement in left atrial deformation indices as assessed by tissue doppler imaging. revascularization can, therefore, improve patient outcome. results regarding changes in left trial functional parameters after pci, those such as the strain of the septal wall and the anterior and inferior walls and the strain rate of the anterior and lateral walls significantly increased following pci, while the strain of the lateral wall and the strain rate of the septal wall significantly decreased. objectives the present study aimed to assess left atrial function by tissue doppler parameters of strain and strain rate following percutaneous coronary intervention (pci). patients and methods this prospective study recruited 77 consecutive patients with coronary artery disease who underwent pci. the study end point was to assess left atrial function by regional strain and strain rate parameters before and after pci via tissue doppler imaging. background left atrial function can be critical for risk assessment and prediction of adverse cardiac events. tissue doppler of atrial contraction can provide regional and global snapshots of atrial systolic function.

Do left atrial strain and strain rate reflect intrinsic atrial function, or are they determined by left ventricular function?
BACKGROUND Left atrial (LA) strain (S) and strain rate (SR) are reported as measures of intrinsic function. AIM Since the LA and left ventricle (LV) are connected through the mitral annulus, we investigated: (1) if deformation indices in the LA are mostly predicted by deformation of the LV; (2) if timings of S and SR events are similar in both the LA and LV; and (3) if alteration of S and SR ...
متن کاملTissue Doppler, strain, and strain rate echocardiography for the assessment of left and right systolic ventricular function.
Tissue Doppler (TDE), strain, and strain rate echocardiography are emerging real time ultrasound techniques that provide a measure of wall motion. They offer an objective means to quantify global and regional left and right ventricular function and to improve the accuracy and reproducibility of conventional echocardiography studies. Radial and longitudinal ventricular function can be assessed b...

a rare complication of primary percutaneous coronary intervention: left atrial dissection and hematoma
conclusions preoperative echocardiography, applied before elective and emergency percutaneous coronary interventions, plays a key role in detecting many intervention-related complications in the post-intervention period. case presentation a 65-year-old male patient was admitted to the emergency department and acute inferolateral myocardial infarction was diagnosed. the left atrial hematoma as a...
متن کاملassessment of right ventricular function by tissue doppler, strain and strain rate imaging in patients with left-sided valvular heart disease and pulmonary hypertension
background pulmonary artery hypertension is the presentation of various types of cardiovascular and systematic diseases. there are different kinds of noninvasive methods to determine right ventricular function, pulmonary artery pressure, and effect of pulmonary hypertension on right ventricular function. these methods include the tissue doppler imaging (tdi) of the tricuspid annulus and the lon...
